The SECurus system

Passage aid

The increase and diversity in activity, both geographically and operational, in combination with an increase in new vessels and a shortage of experienced maritime personnel, has lead to a decrease in experience and regularity based operations. One of the key strengths of the SECurus system is to aid maritime personnel with limited experience in unknown waters and during different operational situations, letting them base their decision on visual material, discussions with other personnel, illumination and feedback of dangerous areas and objects ahead.

  • Illumination

The illumination of all dangerous objects and areas based on elements in the navigation chart, from the AIS or RADAR system.

  • Alarms and feedback

Feedback and attraction of attention through alarms, visual or acoustic information.

  • Decision sharing

In situations where discussions and experience sharing with other vessels or onshore personnel is called upon, the SECurus will be a unique platform for real time information sharing.

  • Documentation

All information available in the SECurus system will be logged and saved for documentation, further analysis or post decision making.
